ClusterTech Showcases HPC/AI Convergence Innovations at WAIC 2025
2025-07-29

ClusterTech participated in the landmark World Artificial Intelligence Conference 2025 (WAIC 2025) in Shanghai from 26-29 July 2025, a premier event spanning 70,000 square meters that gathered over 800 global technology leaders. As a key representative of Hong Kong’s innovation ecosystem, the company featured prominently in the Hong Kong Pavilion – co-hosted by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), Hong Kong Science Park (HKSTP), and Cyberport – engaging in global AI dialogues while advancing high-performance computing (HPC) solutions within a collaborative international framework.

WAIC 2025: Capturing AI’s Accelerating Momentum

The conference vividly demonstrated AI’s evolution across three critical domains: Compute & Connectivity infrastructure innovations from chipmakers alongside telecom providers; Models & Applications featuring large language models, vertical AI solutions, and industry integration cases; and Embodied AI. Interactive displays including robot combat and mahjong sessions highlighted AI’s accelerating real-world adoption.

Senior Solutions Engineer Mr. Ma Xiaohui presented on the stage

As an expert in HPC and AI convergence, ClusterTech presented four flagship solutions: CHESS (ClusterTech HPC Environment Software Stack), CPAS (ClusterTech Platform for Atmospheric Simulation), EaaS (HPC cloud platform), and the PRISMA trilingual text analytics engine. Senior Solutions Engineer Mr. Ma Xiaohui presented "Integrated HPC-AI Cluster Solutions", analysing supercomputing-intelligent computing convergence trends and demonstrating how CHESS integrates Slurm and Kubernetes to unify heterogeneous resource management.

The booth attracted a lots of visitors

Our team elaborated on CPAS breakthrough innovations – Customisable Unstructured Mesh Generation (CUMG) and Hierarchical Time Stepping (HTS) within the MPAS-A model – which boost regional forecast accuracy while lowering computational costs. These advances are applicable to industries like low-altitude operations and renewable energy forecasting etc. Concurrently, the award-winning enhanced PRISMA engine debuted Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) technology, delivering adaptive AI search, knowledge management, actionable insight discovery, LLM deployment, and custom system development services. Assistant Marketing Manager Sharon Xie articulated ClusterTech’s infrastructure roadmap during an interview with Hong Kong Radio Television (RTHK).

Amidst AI’s transformative surge, the company champions measured innovation, echoing Bill Gates’ observation: "We always overestimate change in two years while underestimating the decade’s transformation." ClusterTech will deepen HPC-AI integration through industry partnerships, driving infrastructure maturity and practical applications to advance the new era of intelligent computing.
